Beware of Cavities
Dental caries is the most prevalent non-communicable disease in the world. It depends on several factors, such as saliva flow, exposure to fluorides, oral hygiene, consumption of foods rich in sugars, among others.
The frequency and consumption of sugars allow microorganisms present in the mouth to have favorable conditions to increase in quantity and produce acids that cause changes in the pH of the mouth. These acids cause mineral loss, which is the beginning of cavities.
In addition to having a diet with less sugar, it is important to properly perform oral hygiene to remove food debris and maintain a healthy mouth.
